Mariemont High School
"Riders of the Storm"

Last November, the Mariemont High School AP Biology class decided to take on a challenge: the Lexus Eco Challenge. The nationwide competition encourages teens to make a difference in their local environments, developing and enacting our Action Plan. The MHS "Riders of the Storm" created a rain garden, targeting the issue of runoff water, and were one of 16 teams nationwide to win the first-round prize of $10,000. Now the Riders are taking it to the next level for the $50,000 Final Challenge. We want to share our experience and tips with others, so that they too can benefit by creating an easy and beautiful rain garden.

So... what is a rain garden?
